Yeah, maybe "contemporary" isn't the right word. I was thinking of the clip in terms of Spicer's "poetics of dictation" and current interest in codes and "non-representational" language. And of course there's the whole metaphor and allegory thing.

I'd be happy to buy you a beer, whoever you are.
